01The Opportunity

Great products.
A closing window.

Excellence is not a
survival strategy.
Demand is.

Japan makes extraordinary things, and a shrinking population means fewer people at home to buy them. When the buyers thin out, so does the reason for anyone to keep the workshop open — and a craft, a regional culture and a piece of history go with it. Very little of this work has ever reached the world in a form that holds its value. The gap is not quality.

  • Producers have no route out

Excellent makers rarely have overseas market knowledge, English capability or distribution. Most never try twice after a difficult first attempt.

  • Overseas companies have no reliable counterpart

Finding a Japan-side partner who can vouch for quality, hold the relationship with the producer and keep supply consistent is hard.

  • Shipping a product is not transferring its value

Exported goods arrive without the story, the positioning or the way of selling that made them matter at home.

We do not simply send products abroad. We move the value, and the commercial machinery around it, into your market.

02What We Do

From Japanese origin to global opportunity.

01

Sourcing &
Curation

We select Japanese producers, products and regional resources, and verify the background and the quality before anything is offered.

02

Brand & Market
Development

Positioning, English expression, product line-up and the buying experience, designed for the customers in your market rather than translated at them.

03

Trade &
Launch Support

Quotations, specifications, the information required for import and export, supply coordination and the launch itself.

04

Community &
Experience

Through Nippon Cheers and related work — tastings, experiences, content and direct contact with the people who will buy.

Customs clearance, logistics and regulatory filings are handled with external specialists. The division of responsibility is set out in Partner With Us.

03Partnership Model

Build the
market together.

A Market Development Partnership is not a franchise and not a one-off purchase order. We build the product, the brand and the route to market with you, in your country.

05Proof of Work

What we have
actually done.

We would rather show a small number of real things than claim a large number of unverifiable ones.

  • Matcha sold in New York

JAPAN Fes New York, 26–27 August 2023. Cold matcha sold directly to the public, to learn what a market pays before building a product line on assumptions.

  • A matcha line already shipping

Five grades from Uji and Kagoshima, Organic JAS and Halal certified, with wholesale supply from 20 kg and private-label production available.

  • A company operating since 2012

Outgrow Japan Inc. has run sales training, marketing education and advertising for over a decade — the disciplines this business is built on.

  • Overseas workshop, Malaysia

26 April 2026. At a market stand, guests sifted, whisked and tasted matcha alongside our team, then made it themselves. Ninety seconds of the day are below. 要確認:参加者数・成果

06Who You Work With

Shuhei Yamamoto

Representative Director, Outgrow Japan Inc.

He founded the company in 2012 on a method of selling that does not push, and spent a decade teaching it. The export business came later — and in 2023 he took matcha to New York and sold it over a counter, because he would rather test a market than assume one.

For a partnership of this size you are not only choosing a brand — you are choosing the people who will be on the other end of the line for the next several years. We would rather you know exactly who that is, and why they are doing this at all.

About us
07Our Purpose

Prove your possibility.

Japan's tea-growing households have fallen to 43% of their 2008 number. Then the world discovered matcha. Tea exports reached a record JPY 36.4 billion in 2024, investment came back — and successors appeared, bringing with them the thing that had really gone missing: the wish to take the family's work on. That is not an export story. It is a tradition being given a future by people who live elsewhere.

We are trying to repeat it on purpose, category by category. And there is a second thing we want from it: this country is held in far higher regard abroad than it holds itself. We cannot tell Japan it is remarkable and be believed. A partner who chooses this work, and comes back for it, can.

08Market Development Asset

Nippon Cheers

Connect in English. Share Japan with the world.

Nippon Cheers is our own channel for putting products in front of real people — tastings, gatherings and content that create demand before a single retail conversation begins. For a partner, it is a distribution and audience asset, not a side project.
